School Days :)

Today is the first day of school. Vacation is over for the kids and the students and they need to prepare their bags and wear uniforms again after two months of chilling out, strolling, slouching and "tambay" mode with the barkada. I woke up earlier today and saw my neighbors in their best uniform waiting for the school bus. First thing that came into my mind, I miss school days. It's been six years that my world revolves around the office. I haven't even visit my Alma Mater. My old uniforms has been in my closet for so long that all I can do is simply stare over it and reminisced the times I am in a rush going to school hoping that I can make it on time. My eight years of going to school has been one of the best moment of my life.

Here are the reasons why I love going to school:

1. You will meet new friends. Every school year I always found a true friend. During elementary, my bestfriend was Jhona who happened to be two zones away from our house. Then on my highschool days, I've met Larissa, a chinita girl from San Pedro and became my closest friend for three years. And finally during college, I have my bestest friend May and we are still bestfriends until now.

2. You will know the value of learning. Good things are being learned in school. I am not a perfect student during my time because I broke some of the school rules also. I graduated in Catholic school during highschool where I started to become a firm believer of God. I always attend the mass wearing my white gala uniform with a veil in my head and became a lector and commentator every Sunday. But during our retreat, we did some sort of vandalism in the retreat house wherein we were punished by our priest. And during college, I cut classes twice. Uh-Oh! But I've never been into big trouble. My parents was never been in the principal's office. That's the good part.

3. You will discover what craft you're good at and what are your real potentials. When I was in elementary I won the History contest. I am a 2nd placer that time. I never thought History can be an interesting subject. I also compete for declamation but I guess it's not my forte. During high school, I was the school representative for essay writing in English. I won 1st placer during the Student's Week and received the Best in English award. Since then, English became my favorite subject.

I won 2nd placer in the History contest with Maam Bernadette

4. You've got your own choice of what school bags and other school materials you'd like to have before the start of the school year. When I was in kinder, I am a spoiled brat. I have three different luncbox. I have Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Pocahontas. I am a big fan of Little Mermaid before. My shoes has a Barbie doll chain. I even have a Jollibee trolley bag when I was in Grade 4. But when I enter highschool, my interests changed from big shoulder bags mostly black and red colors to duffle bags. I love notebooks with cute prints and has a motto in every cover. Most of my notebooks before have pictures of flowers and babies. Of course, when I was in college, I've got one notebook and that is all for my subjects already. Tipid mode.

when I was in Grade One, the always call me "Pops Fernandez" because of my hair since my Mom always have my hair cut like this where I look so boyish

5. You will have your first crush. I remember when I was in Grade 4 I had this huge crush from a guy who joined our class that year. I find him cute then and he always looks neat. His name is Francis. Unfortunately, he likes my bestfriend Jhona. I even have two consistent suitors then namely Emil and Jeric. Wow! Still, remember their names. While on highschool, I have two major crushes as well. It was still Francis because we studied on the same school and Jeffrey. But Jeffrey transferred school during our 2nd year so on the latter part of my highschool days, Vherong caught my attention. That was my highschool prom when I started having a crush on him because of that memorable dance. College is the most unforgettable year because of Yuuki. He is my one and only true love and crush cause even after the time I graduated college I still can't get over him. We became friends that is the most thankful part.

Jeric Lareza, he was one of "makulit na suitor" during elementary

This is Vherong. I secretly bought this picture to Manong Cameraman. Until now, he didn't know about this.

Yuuki Kadooka, child-like version of my college crush. Literally, I don't have a picture of him. Too bad.

6. You will appreciate your parents very much. Sending kids to school has never been an easy task for every parent. It is considered to be a big responsibility that they really need to do. Plus the fact that it is kinda expensive. I did not came from a rich family but my parents worked hard just to send me to school. My Mom even worked as a caterer to my Aunt's business during my elementary days just to feed us while my Dad's source of living that time is through fishing. He was a fisherman then and I am so proud for both of them. There was even a time I can't join our retreat because we really don''t have any money and my classmates decided to contribute to cover my expenses. I cried so hard that time. I thanked my parents now that I was able to finish my studies and have a good job now.

my elementary graduation with Papa, I was the class salutatorian

Meg and Mico :)

I saw this commercial last night and I fell in love with it. The song is very compatible with the scenes. It was "A Thousand Miles" by Vanessa Carlton. It was a long distance love story of Meg and Mico.  A very cute couple. They were able to make things possible because of Smart, a wireless internet connection. I love every part of it that I was so "kilig". Plus the fact that the guy on the commercial is so gorgeous.

The Ukay-Okay Items :)

I am a big fan of the website Ukay-Okay founded by Aldrin Orqueta and Mish Cortez which I consider to be one of my closest friends for a long time. They opened the business last month and I am happy to hear that it is doing well now. I am one of their "suki" and my Tita as well where she bought most of the good dresses. I bought five items already and there's another five waiting to be delivered for last night. And I am excited to wear it again. I wanted to post the pictures of the items I bought cause honestly I want to take a picture of the dresses and blouses while wearing it but I am not really good when in comes to posing and picture taking so I grabbed this photos directly from the website. Here's some of the items that I truly adore. I included those that has not yet been sent out. And just so you know guys, I am a happy customer!:)

Maam April??

Three weeks ago, I experienced the difference of being in the pilot section. You get a lot of auxxes, attention and was given high respect by your co-agents and newbies. For those not working in the call center world, "auxxes" is when you were ask to go off the phones and assists the newer batches of agents. I am entitled to work and take calls 11 hours a day but being part of PIT, I rarely take calls now and I am being trained to coach agents and assists them with their questions and concerns about the account. It's fun helping them and at the same time you take a lot of time to relax and rest from the stressful day. Aside from the good privileges I am getting now, respect is the top thing I earned now from my co-agents. I don't know why they need to call me "Maam' whenever they have questions. I just smiled at them whenever I hear it.  Weird. I am used to being called "Teacher April" but "Maam April" is totally a different feeling. I just want to blog it cause I think in simple ways I am slowly earning the respect of my co-agents which is very hard to get now because of different attitudes and interests that goes with the age as well and cultures. I never dream to have a position in this type of environment cause I am not yet ready for it physically and emotionally. But maybe in the right time, if it's really my calling, then why not? :)

Nail Polish of the Week: "Glittering Red" (Week 3)

"Glittering Red"

Last week, I made a bad choice for my nail polish. It did not work well with my fingers. The texture is not firm that after two days it brushed off my fingers and literally broke the entire polish. Too bad that I need to do some retouching day after day. For this week, I decided to be in the safe zone so I chose "Glittering Red". I always have doubt using red nail polish even before but today I took the courage and when it's done, I am contented. It looks very sophisticated and sexy. I hope taking this risk will give me good feed backs. My supervisor told me last week he hates my "Oh-Range" nail polish. Poor me. I am trying to bounce back this week with this color. So far, I am satisfied with it. :)

Item of the Week: "Ukay-Okay Delivery" (Week 3)

Lately, I've been addicted to one of my friend's new business online named as "Ukay-Okay". From the name itself, they were selling clothes and bags they bought from thrift shops and ukay-ukay. I bought a lot of pieces already and wore it. It looks comfortable and very stylish and most importantly I got it from a cheaper price. Ukay-ukay business is popular in the country cause a lot of people are so practical when it comes to buying clothes from these kind of places rather than going to the mall and getting those piece of clothing's in a very expensive price. I am happy for Aldrin and Mish for putting up this business. It helps a lot especially with the type of schedule that I have and most of the time I don't have time to visit the mall or thrift shops to buy my own clothes cause I'd rather sleep and rest at home than stroll around the mall.  Avery lazy version of myself. Last Monday, I received the orders we made thru LBC. It was pretty convenient. Every Sunday, they post new sets of dresses, tops, bags and jackets. It's Sunday, so I'll be checking their website later for new items. I am excited. :)
